Take care of it

Aftercare

Your tattoo is an open wound wearing nice clothes — treat it kindly for two weeks and it will look sharp for decades. Siobhan will walk you through specifics at your appointment; this is the short version to come back to.

01

First few hours

Leave the wrap on as long as Siobhan tells you at the appointment (usually a few hours for standard film, up to several days for second-skin style bandages). When it comes off, wash gently with lukewarm water and fragrance-free soap, then pat dry with a clean paper towel.

02

Days 1–14

Wash twice a day and apply a thin layer of fragrance-free moisturizer — thin is the keyword. Itching and light flaking are normal; scratching and picking are not. Let any flakes fall off on their own.

03

Things to avoid

No soaking while healing: skip baths, pools, hot tubs, and the ocean for 2–3 weeks (quick showers are fine). Keep fresh tattoos out of direct sun, and avoid tight clothing rubbing on the area.

04

Long-term

Once healed, sunscreen is the single best thing you can do for your tattoo — fine-line work stays crisp for years when it's protected. If anything about the healing looks off, reach out; a quick photo usually settles it.

Questions

FAQ

How do I book an appointment?

Pick an open date on the booking calendar and send a request with a short description of the piece. Siobhan reviews every request personally and you'll get an email when it's approved. No back-and-forth DMs required.

How much will my tattoo cost?

It depends on size, detail, and placement. Flash designs have set prices listed with each design. For custom work, include your budget or ask in the request and Siobhan will give you an estimate before anything is confirmed.

Do you do cover-ups?

Yes — cover-ups and reworks are welcome. Include a clear photo of the existing tattoo in your request so Siobhan can judge what will work over it.

What should I do before my appointment?

Sleep well, eat a real meal beforehand, and hydrate. Skip alcohol the night before — it thins your blood. Wear comfortable clothes that leave the placement easy to reach, and bring snacks for longer sessions.

Can I bring a friend?

One quiet guest is generally fine — the studio is a shared working space, so no groups. Please leave kids and pets at home.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

You can cancel from your account page any time before your appointment; the slot reopens for someone else. If you need a different date, just submit a new request.

Does it hurt?

Yes, some — but fine-line work is on the gentler end, and most people find it very manageable. Placement matters more than size: ribs, sternum, and feet are the spicy ones.
